Katherine Hyatt Hawkins

Head Coach/ Gymnastics Program Lead

I began my CrossFit journey five years ago. I first fell in love with CrossFit’s methodology and its goal-oriented nature — there is always something to work toward or improve upon in CrossFit, which aligned well with my gymnastics, dance, and cheerleading background. What kept me hooked on CrossFit and ultimately lead me to coaching, was the idea that we all have the strength to do more than we ever thought we could, and that an hour of structured exercise, coaching, and a community is all it takes to realize this or put it in motion. I coach because I want others to know their potential. There is nothing I love more than watching someone do something for the first time or lift more than they think they can. I am truly proud of athletes at CFB every single day. I love CF so much that I have even incorporated it in my personal research in health communication. I conducted a qualitative study on how the CF community functions as source of health information for its members and its role in improving athletes’ lives at work and at home.
